10-K pace

When you see this in a Training Plan, it means the pace of your last 10-K race.   So the “10-K pace” will be different for every runner…

  1. For a 62-minute 10k runner, the 10k pace = 10 mins/mile
  2. For a 31-minute 10k running, the 10k pace = 5 mins/mile
  3. World records for the 10k are…
    • 26:24 minutes for men (Rhonex Kipruto, 2020)
    • 29:43 minutes for women (Joyciline Jepkosgei, 2017)
  4. My last 10k time was 52:51 or 8:31 per mile
